The verdict is pretty much in: true photopolymer stamps are the best for clay. I am such a magpie. I go down the Shiny aisle in the store and there is a shiny magazine with shiny stamps as a "free gift". Always on the look out for anything that can make an interesting mark and these looked promising.
I was slightly disappointed in some red rubber mount stamps I got last month. They didn't work on the clay as well as I could have hoped. Jury is still out on those until I colour them. There are plans afoot to try some resist techniques with them which could work better.
These aren't my first photopolymers. I have had a few in the past that worked well but there are some stamps that look photopolymer but are actually vinyl or silicone and these have NOT worked for me. I didn't know there was this difference in material and got fed up them.
Now I know you have to go for the real deal. They are brilliant. Even on wet clay. Sink right in and peel right off leaving a great impression. These ones are going on the tree.
Oh yeah, forgot to say. My finger that I didn't cut off is better now which means Clay Stuff Happening! Also, and I promise promise promise, BISQUE FIRE this week. Squee!
