Went up to Stoke-on-Trent, the heart of the potteries, to pick up a big order from Potclays. Really needed some new kiln shelves and props so I could fire up some lovely tree ornaments for you. You need lots of shelves and 1" props to fire them flat and still get lots on the kiln.
Also picked up big crate of new colours. Really excited to try these out but I have been such a slacker I haven't prepped any test tiles. When I get those done I will post up the results so you can see all the different glazes.
Whenever I go to the clay store I try to pick up something that will expand my technical range. This time it was some engobes. These are thick non-glaze colours that can be used to draw lines and patterns but will keep a 3D effect. I have seen it used in some really cool ways and wanted to have a go.
We stayed over in Sheffield while up north and really enjoyed some of the great micro brews they had on offer. I heartily recommend the Devonshire Cat and the Dove and Rainbow if you are ever in that city.
Hello peoples! Wanted to let you know that there are new listings for Collector's Choice Random Pigs in the store. Collector's Choice pigs are for you guys who already have pigs and are looking for a particular breed.
Today's listings are for Algarve Special, Essex Spotted Indigo, and Essex Spotted Lemon. They are size 2 (made from 2 oz of clay). This makes them come out at about 2 inches high. And they are soooooo CUTE!
I've been working on the packaging for the pigs. After some prototypes, the one that everyone likes the best is this little milk carton type box. You can see it here with an Essex Lemon Random Pig. There are a few of this breed seeking happy homes.
You will get a lovely little friendly pig with a certificate of authenticity that is signed and dated with a description of your unique pottery pig. They are all handmade and all different. You can collect all the different breeds.
