Hello happy friends! How are you all hanging in there. I hope you enjoyed last week's Odd Oddments. This week we have a similar jumble but tied together with the fact that they are all fairly small, quick, and easy cross stitch patterns. I see a lot of requests online for small things to send people because none of us can go visiting these days. We are all missing grandparents or parents or close friends who aren't that far away but we still can't just get in the car and go to see.
I thought it would be nice to have a week of free cross stitch patterns that would help you make something small and meaningful to send people you are missing and who are missing you or who are feeling lonely and isolated.
Seems like the world has gone rainbow crazy. There are frikkin' rainbow everything everywhere. I really don't get the connection between the coronavirus situation and rainbows. There ain't no pot of gold at the end of this for anyone. Unless you are in the PPE business or run a grocery store. Rainbows come in the middle of storm, not at the end. They are an illusory trick of the light. Very pretty, but they serve no practical purpose.
But people like them so here is a free rainbow cross stitch pattern that should be easy enough to stitch up in a couple of hours. I guess I am a bit cynical. And also a realist. I am not the sort of person who thinks if we all just keep saying everything is going to be ok that is it going to be ok. There are a lot of people in this crazy year who are not going to get a rainbow.
So maybe that is why it is important to send one to someone you love today. At least they will get a rainbow even if there isn't a pot of gold for any of us at the end of this.
