Good Morning Happy Friends!
As well as today's segment of the mid-century modern sampler design that is free to download, I made a video on cross stitching with linen.
Linen is a brilliant material to work with the the results can be stunning. But if you have never worked with it before it can be difficult and discouraging.
In this video I have a complete guide to working with linen starting from why you might want to use it, what it is and how it differs from other materials, tools that will make cross stitching with it much easier, selecting the right linen when you are a beginner, and a tutorial that covers how to cross stitch with linen.
The reason I made this video is because I think the mid-century modern design would look just beautiful done on linen rather than Aida. It could be an heirloom piece. And I realised that when I did my first cross stitch project with linen (a wedding sampler) I wished there had been a youtube video to show me what I was getting myself into and that not all linen or designs are good for people just starting out with the material.
I hope you find this cross stitching video helpful and that it will encourage you to challenge yourself by trying a new material.
You can watch below or head over to my youtube channel to view it.
If you like the Hancock's House of Happy facebook page you will be the first to know when new free cross stitch patterns to download are posted. I also announce them on twitter and pinterest.
