Today's absolutely free cross stitch pattern is a happy bear with a mid-century modern feel. I have an affinity with bears. I am from Canada and bears were a common sight where I lived. They aren't cute exactly. Nor are they majestic (even see one scratch itself on a tree?). They are dangerous animals but will go out of their way to avoid humans rather than eat them. Except for grizzly bears. They will just fuck you up because they are angry.
Bears are the working man of the forest. They are just trying to get through life with as little hassle as possible so they can eat enough fish and berries and squirrels to sleep for three months.
There are some complex colour changes here that might make this free cross stitch pattern a bit challenging for a complete beginner but the results will be worth it. This would be so cute as a baby shower gift because it is gender neutral and you can add the names and dates above and below the bear quite easily. It is a small cross stitch design as well so you could get this done for a last minute gift in a couple of days.
