A week of fall fair/autumn festival cross stitch designs and patterns free to download!
It's Fall Fair Week! A whole week of autumn/fall (depending on where you live) inspired cross stitch patterns to download for free. I love the fall and when I was a kid our town had a huge fall fair and harvest festival. My family competed every year with our produce and canning and baking. Sadly, we didn't keep animals but I loved visiting the big old barn to see the prize winning chickens.
Today we have a cute little hedgehog cross stitch pattern. The hedgehog is holding a bunch of balloons that are also fall leaves! I love how solid this little hedgehog is. It is holding tight on to those balloons and it won't be floating away anywhere!
This free hedgehog cross stitch design might be a little advanced for a complete beginner but if you have a few designs under your belt then you could tackle this one no probs. There are some nice colour gradients and stitched detailing on the balloons.
Hedgehogs remind me of the fall because that is when you most often see them (alive anyways) here in the UK. They are crepuscular and come out in the dusk to find slugs and snails and bugs to eat. They hibernate over the winter in piles of leaves and twigs and have to fatten themselves up. I wish I had that excuse!
