It's Corona Time! Five Free Corona Virus Cross Stitch Patterns to Get You Through Lock Down.
Well happy friends, it is certainly some strange times we do live in. The entire world has ground to a halt because of a microbe that causes flu like symptoms. People are dying, losing their jobs and businesses, entire economies are crumbling, and many of us are cooped up at home for probably the next three months.
I deal with this sort of thing with humour so I have created five free corona virus crisis cross stitch patterns to help get us all through this. Cross stitching is so good for mental health and if you are going stir crazy maybe now is the time to order yourself in some floss and fabric and get stitching!
Today's free covid19 cross stitch pattern is a little something to help us commemorate the biggest failure ever in the ability of a government to communicate with its people: Social Distancing.
Rather than telling us all to stay home and buy groceries once per week they introduced a nebulous and open to individual interpretation concept. However, this social distancing cross stitch pattern makes it pretty clear. Two metres in either direction people!
If nothing else this little episode will hopefully have made many of us think about what actually is essential, become more science literate, and be more canny about when and how we question the media and people in charge. Which should be All The Time and Loudly.
There will be books written and films made and the discussion will go on for years and years. But what it comes down to is this: the media hypes everything so when something important comes along we just ignore it as hype and people die, capitalism in its current form is a global economy ruled over by sociopaths who think the humans that create their capital are expendable machines, humans are no longer social creatures who consider the good of the tribe first and believe themselves to be the very machines deployed by sociopaths to labour and die without reaching their full potential.
I am not expecting a huge paradigm shift at the end of this. But some people around me are going to get the stink eye and I am going to think twice before I just get in my car, buy something on Amazon, or spend one moment of my time enriching another person who doesn't give a shit about me.
Ok, so this week has seen me get a bit political. A bit philosophical. Don't worry, next week I am going to go for something silly and light and I will have a lot less to say! Please don't go!
