Portugal has become a second home for me. My parents live there and I visit often. I have come to really love the country.
I know that some people like to put shiny balls and things up for Christmas but my Christmas tree is decorated with things I have collected on my travels or that I have made to represents milestones and memories. Maybe you do the same?
That is what inspired these icons of Portugal cross stitch Christmas tree decorations. There is a cross stitch Rooster of Barcelos (which has an interesting folk tale behind it), a cross stitch Portuguese sardine in the style of blue and white tile, and a cross stitch Lisbon streetcar.
You don't have to turn these cross stitch icons of Portugal into Christmas tree decorations either. They would make cute little gifts on their own in a frame. Although I think a Christmas tree covered in cross stitch sardines in all different colours would be amazing!
