Ortstravaganza the Third! A week of random free cross stitch patterns to download.
It seems like we just had an Ortstravaganza, which is what I call a week of free cross stitch patterns that don't have any particular theme. They are cross stitch designs that have been kicking around for a while but never got published. Now that I am designing more free cross stitch, I find myself with ever more orts in my ort cloud of random designs.
Today's free cross stitch pattern is this sweet little sewing sampler cross stitch design. It features lots of familiar little sewing cross stitch motifs plus maybe one that isn't so familiar? Does anyone else remember or maybe you still have one of those big red tomato pin cushions with the strawberry? Well that is what that red thing is there in the middle.
As you must know by now, I have a love of all things tiki, tropical, and mid-century modern. What you might not know by now is that I also love booze. This free tiki cross stitch pattern combines all four things in one great tropical cross stitch design for a tiki bar sign!
This is a very recent ort from the ort cloud. I had (still have) this idea of doing a Happy Hour week of cocktail cross stitch patterns but it hasn't quite come together. This cross stitch tiki bar sign was simply too much fun to keep to myself so I will just have to come up with something else for Happy Hour week.
The cross stitch tiki there comes directly from a place called Don the Beachcomber's in Kona Hawaii. It is one of the best places to go for some Big Island atmosphere and delicious craft beer. It is home of the original Mai Tai. There are better places for cocktails in Kona if you are an aficionado of alcoholic concoctions but you can't beat Don's for that authentic Hawaiian happy hour sunset vibes.
