Myth and Magic Week! Five Free Fabulous Creature Cross Stitch Patterns.
Hello happy friends! Last week the theme was Missing You Much. I toyed with the idea of calling this week Mything You Much but, even though I have no limits for puns, you all probably do. So this week there are five free fabulous cross stitch patterns featuring magical and mythical creature in colourful silhouette style.
Today we have a fairy on a toadstool cross stitch pattern. I went with galaxy colours for this free fairy cross stitch which come across sort of girly I guess. Although I am not a girly girl. The princess thing was never my jam but I had a fascination with fairies. I didn't want to be one. It was just the idea of tiny people who flew around the forest and took care of the flowers and trees and animals that seemed kind of cool to me. Like at the time it (I was five) it seemed sort of absurd that all of these things just took care of themselves with out some sort of supervision.
It's funny how so many disparate cultures around the world have some sort of concept of wee folk who live in the wild and confound big silly humans with their magical powers. Maybe we are all just looking for the same thing no matter where we come from: something other than Poor Life Choices to explain how we got where we are.
Annnnny ways... this would be a great stash buster cross stitch pattern if you happen to have a lot of bits of purple and pink lying around. Which I do for some reason. The little cross stitch fairy is perched so primly on her toadstool. Look at her little tiny feet! So cute! This would make a great birth announcement cross stitch pattern if you paired it with on of my free cross stitch fonts. Or this elegant cross stitch font from last year would match perfectly.
