A week of space themed cross stitch designs and patterns free to download!
Today we start a new theme at Hancock's House of Happy with a whole week of free space themed cross stitch designs to download.
First up we have this space walking astronaut cross stitch pattern. I used to want to be an astronaut when I was a very young kid but then Challenger happened and that cured me of that. You must be very brave to voluntarily get into a metal tube and get shot outside of the atmosphere with a million tons of dynamite. And then leave the metal tube to walk around in a freezing vacuum full of radiation. I certainly admire anyone willing to do that for science but there are people who want to pay to do it for fun. That is a whole new kind of stupid.
This is displayed as though it were stitched on black but you can stitch it on any colour you want if black is difficult for you. I have done a few projects on black and it drove me crazy! I think an beginner cross stitcher would find this cross stitch design a bit challenging as there is a lot of detail done with back stitching. An intermediate stitcher would find this little design very easy.
Any space geek in your life would love this and it would not take much time to stitch it. You could also switch the accent colour to suit your own taste. I would say that a kid would love to get this but it isn't a toy or a book or video game so maybe you would need to supplement the gift with some lego.
