Motivation Monday! A semi-regular feature bringing you free motivational cross stitch patterns.

Welcome to Motivation Monday! I have some ideas kicking around for some motivational cross stitch designs and, rather than cramming them all into a single week, I thought I would release them every so often on Mondays. A great way to start off the week!

As I talked about a couple of weeks ago, I do a lot of stuff to maintain my mental health. I am also a, ahem, woman of a certain age and want to make sure that I maintain a healthy body for life. One of the things that helps me is weight lifting. It is really great for the body and mind. It makes you strong, gives you confidence, and can deliver really visible results if you are consistent.

IF YOU ARE CONSISTENT!

Anyone who lifts is sure to appreciate this free weight lifting cross stitch pattern. It's not going to curl itself. I literally have this written on a dry erase board in the room where I work out (which happens to also be the room where I eat and cross stitch and do lots of other stuff), because there are days that I just don't want to do it. Biceps are probably my least favourite thing to work on. I have weak bony girl arms (that are a lot stronger than they used to be!)

The trick is just to start. Motivation comes afterwards. Those stupid biceps aren't going to curl themselves! This free motivational cross stitch design is really versatile as well because you can switch out any of the colours to suit yourself.

A week of coffee themed cross stitch designs and patterns free to download!

It's Coffee Week! A whole week of cross stitch designs celebrating this delicious and bitter liquid made from what can only be described as magical beans.

Today's free cross stitch pattern is a hip and trendy aeropress sampler for the hip and trendy, um, hipster in your life.

I actually posted this on the facebook page way back at the end of July because I had two versions but wasn't sure which one I liked best. So I asked you! And got some great feedback. This was the one you chose with requested coffee beans added.

The great thing about this free coffee cross stitch design is that you can really make it your own by changing the colour. It is basically mono-chromatic so just choose a few tones of your favourite colour and substitute accordingly.

This would be an awesome gift for any coffee snob and it pretty easy as well. You could probably stitch this up in just a few days.

It's the last day of Space Week! A whole week of astronomy, space, and planet themed free cross stitch designs to download.

Today we have a lonely little rover doing science on the surface of some remote and barren planet! I remember when the Mars rover first started sending back pictures to Earth. It was the first time the human race got to see what an entirely different planet looked like. It was amazing!

I really like this design. It was spontaneous and done entirely in my cross stitch design software. For some reason most of my best designs don't have any planning or sketching or anything. I especially like the subtle curve of the machine tracks and all of the shading that gives this free cross stitch design such life.

I would say that this is a fairly advanced cross stitch pattern. There are subtle colour changes and lots of back stitching. If you are a beginner cross stitcher maybe check out yesterday's free space themed cross stitch design below.

Any space geek would love to get this planet rover cross stitch but it isn't a last minute gift to be sure. Lots of details and full coverage!

It's day four of Space Week! A whole week of astronomy, space, and planet themed free cross stitch designs to download.

Today we have an ultra-modern style rocket ship cross stitch pattern free to download. This is maybe more science fiction than space fact but it is interesting to look back on what people thought space would be like in the future. All Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers, this free cross stitch design was inspired by the optimism of the 1950's serial matinees. Not manatees. Matinees.

This is a beginner friendly cross stitch design but would be enjoyed by an advanced cross stitcher looking for a break from a bigger project. It's a cute design for a kid's room as well if you wrap it up with some lego or a video for a gift.

Today we have a quick and easy little space cross stitch pattern that is perfect for beginners. This was inspired by a wall hanging that my best friend in high school gave me when we were teens. That I still have! It literally says "Just Visiting This Planet" with a bunch of planets and stars around it.

This is a great free cross stitch design for a beginner. It's small, doesn't have many colours, and has simple shapes and such. This would be a really good cross stitch pattern for kids as well if you are looking to get them started with this great hobby.
