Ortstravaganza the Third! A week of random free cross stitch patterns to download.
It seems like we just had an Ortstravaganza, which is what I call a week of free cross stitch patterns that don't have any particular theme. They are cross stitch designs that have been kicking around for a while but never got published. Now that I am designing more free cross stitch, I find myself with ever more orts in my ort cloud of random designs.
These charming cross stitch Chinese lanterns were actually a design I did MANY years ago for a sort of 'zine that never got off the ground. Not my 'zine, someone else's. And I just recently came across this lantern cross stitch pattern while clearing out some files and thought it was such a shame hardly anyone got to see it.
These cross stitch lanterns are so colourful and cheerful and easily customisable with your favourite colours. This free cross stitch pattern also has a lot of great back stitched detail to bring it to life. I especially like the decorative knot detail hanging from each lantern.
