It's a Kind of Magic! A week of mystical and magical cross stitch patterns to celebrate your inner witch or wizard.
Hello happy friends! How's it going? You it's funny, if I showed you the content strategy I made last March you might be surprised that all of the free cross stitch patterns I had planned to make for a whole year bear no resemblance to the free cross stitch patterns that actually got posted! EXCEPT for probably this week's five free magic cross stitch patterns. I was a bit stumped for inspiration so I thought why not consult my content plans to see what I thought I was going to do and the theme I planned for this week was Myth and Magic! You will also notice that all of this week's magical cross stitch patterns are done on a black background. It just seemed to suit them better but you can certainly stitch these free magic cross stitch designs on whatever colour you prefer. I think some of them would look cool on something hand dyed maybe.
ALSO, at the suggestion of one of you happy friends on the facebook page (follow me there to know when all the new free patterns come out) I have started to include the stitch count for each colour in my cross stitch charts so you know roughly how much thread you will need.
Today's free crystal shard cross stitch pattern fits rather loosely into the magic cross stitch pattern theme but I have always associated crystals with all things magic and mystical. In so many stories crystals have power or contain spirits and also they are oh so shiny and pretty! This amethyst cross stitch pattern has lots of very subtle shading but is also basically all in one colour so if purple doesn't suit you it is very easy to change this to a crystal cross stitch colour of your choice. All tones of blue would be pretty! There were two versions of this crystal cross stitch to begin with and I put it to a vote on the facebook page and y'all wanted this one!
