Bug's Life. Five free insect cross stitch patterns for wall decor.
Hello happy friends! How are you today? Last week is was all dinosaurs. This week it is all cute creepy crawlies like bees and bugs and things!Never been a girly girl. Someone forgot to tell me that I was supposed to be afraid of bugs and spiders and things so they actually became my friends as a kid (hey what is normal?).
There hasn't really been many insect cross stitch patterns on the website apart from the odd bee. I don't think there has ever been a moth or a butterfly. Although there has been a caterpillar.
The insect cross stitch pattern for today is a realistic wasp. OK I know that for most people wasps are evil and have no reason to exist. I can't disagree but they are pollinators. They also make my partner freak the fuck out in the most disproportionate and amusing way that I could probably forgive them for being angry stingy pests.
This was meant to be a realistic wasp cross stitch pattern but I guess it ended up be fairly stylised in the wings due to my loathing of designing back stitching. There are also lots of different kinds of wasps and some of them look very similar bees which we find very pretty.
In conclusion wasps are a mirror for our youth and beauty obsessed culture that hold up an uncomfortable reflection of our misconceptions, prejudices, and bias for cute fuzzy things over ugly useful things. Did you ever see a PANDA pollinate anything? I don't think so.
