Welcome to Motivation Monday! I have some ideas kicking around for some motivational cross stitch designs and, rather than cramming them all into a single week, I thought I would release them every so often on Mondays. A great way to start off the week!
As I talked about a couple of weeks ago, I do a lot of stuff to maintain my mental health. I am also a, ahem, woman of a certain age and want to make sure that I maintain a healthy body for life. One of the things that helps me is walking and hiking in the great outdoors. It is really great for the body and mind. It boosts endorphins and improves cardiovascular health and gives you a wonderful sense of well being. It is also great for maintaining a healthy weight or even losing some of that body fat one might not be so fond off.
For me, the mental benefits far outweigh any physical ones but it is awesome that you get both with hiking.
Anyone who walks or hikes is sure to appreciate this free hiking cross stitch pattern. It's not going to hike itself. I have said this many a time at the start of a challenging trail or the last big hill at the end of a walk. If it is a trail like the one in this free walking cross stitch pattern, I like to visualise how it will feel once I get to the end and get to enjoy an amazing view. Both my partner and I love walking and hiking and the worse the weather is the better!
The trick is just to start. Motivation comes afterwards. That hill won't climb itself and it can't see the view from the top. The best part of a really hard hike is getting home, taking off all your soaking wet gear, and snuggling up.
