Be My Anti-Valentine! A week of snarky sarcastic cross stitch patterns to protest Valentines day.

Hello happy friends! We had a week of short and sweet designs so I thought I would balance that out with a week of sarcastic and bitchy cross stitch patterns for those of us who are, well, a little bit ambivalent about Valentines day. Being a plain Jane and rather odd fish I never got many Valentines as a kid (ugh they made us give them out in school wtf is that about?!) and it never really figured large in my romantic life. My partner and I think it's kinda dumb. If it's your thing then you do you but if you hate it as much as I do then maybe one of this weeks free cross stitch patterns will help you get your frustration out.

Today is a funny little free cross stitch sampler that simply says "Bored Now". A sentiment I have expressed often towards situations and people. It has a rather woodland feel. Sort of like the words have been carved into a tree in a desperate attempt to alleviate terminal ennui.

A week of boss themed cross stitch designs and patterns free to download!

It's Boss Week! A whole week of cross stitch designs dedicated to bosses and managers everywhere. You are sure to find the perfect work and boss related free cross stitch patterns to jazz up even the most dour cubicle.

Today's free cross stitch design features a boss woman mantra and hamsa hand. In fact, this has been my personal mantra for many years: I am a serene and powerful goddess and I will fuck you up with my relentless and impeccable logic.

I've mentioned before that my background is in computer and internet systems architecture and more recently in product management of the same. One thing you need to understand about product managers is that they are pragmatic and logical in the extreme. Their job is to be objective and data driven. Unfortunately, many of the organisations that employ product managers also employ very subjective and emotional people. People you have to have meetings with in order to tell them their idea is crap or that the product they love is being discontinued because no one is buying it.

Always before such encounters I would arm myself with this little bit of zen. Emotional people want to make you doubt yourself and your data because they hate change and get really attached to really dumb things like where the Submit button goes on the screen. So having this little reminder of my abilities before having these conversations helped me take that emotion out of it and have a reasonable conversation in which logic prevailed.

Everyone else would get upset because the evidence was indisputable but I was totally cool with the result. Knowledge might be power but data and logic are the mighty twin sledge hammers of competence.

As an interesting aside, the Hamsa Hand in the background there is a very old symbol of strength and power common to many spiritual paths and almost always understood to be the hand of a powerful woman. Ta-da!
