A week of fall fair/autumn festival cross stitch designs and patterns free to download!

It's Fall Fair Week! A whole week of autumn/fall (depending on where you live) inspired cross stitch patterns to download for free. I love the fall and when I was a kid our town had a huge fall fair and harvest festival. My family competed every year with our produce and canning and baking. Sadly, we didn't keep animals but I loved visiting the big old barn to see the prize winning chickens.

Today we have a blue ribbon prize winning veggie box cross stitch pattern free to download.

So here is a question: what colour is the first prize ribbon where you're from? In Canada and in the United States first prize was ALWAYS a blue ribbon with second being red and third being yellow. Here in the UK first prize gets a red ribbon and second place is blue. Third place is still yellow and sometimes there is the Womp Womp Thank You for Participating purple freak ribbon for everyone else who turned up because those are the times we live in. I think the fall fair judging system needs an update a la social media where you get first place if you get the most "likes" from the public. A virtual fall fair if you will.

Anyways... at our local fall fair when I was a kid there were lots of veg contests and in my head my gramps always got first place for his box of veg from his garden. I like this vegetable cross stitch design because it is just so simple but also so colourful. Maybe you have a prize winning gardener in your life who would love to have this up in their garden shed!

Free Super Sushi Sampler Cross Stitch Pattern

I love sushi! For some reason I keep coming back to sushi as cross stitch chart material. Today I have for you a super sushi sampler. A little maki, a little nigiri, chopsticks, pickled ginger. Take your pick and get stitching! It's alllllll delicious. And free of course!

This sushi cross stitch pattern is for more advanced advanced stitchers. It has quite a lot of back stitching and some fractional stitches as well. It is a cross stitch pattern that I first published in 2012 if you can believe it! It probably needs a bit of an update. What do you think? Would you change it at all? Pie? Happy March 14th!

Today is 3.14. Or what is better known as Pi day. Is it any coincidence that pies are round? I think not. And thanks to pi we can calculate their circumferances. And then our own after eating them! Happy Pi Day.

It is how you interpret the question of Pie? that reveals your true self. Is it a pie? Would you LIKE some pie? Is pie the answer you are looking for? 

You can stitch this one up in no time. I think it would make a good fridge magnet or even a gift tag.

By far our favourite visitors to the seedy buffet are the tits.

Basically because they are called tits and it gives you a very good excuse to say tit which is a fantastical little word.

Oh look there's a tit. Awwww a little blue tit. Goodness! A great tit is nibbling my bell. He he he you said TIT.

A Free Little Cross Stitch Chart for The Funniest Man in the World

A wee little free cross stitch chart for you this week. A more traditional sampler style design that might make a neato little Christmas gift. Or birthday gift in my case. Yes, the funniest man in the world has a birthday coming up. He also happens to be my biggest fan.

I will not be posting a chart next week as I will be away. I would love to see what you have been stitching. It has been a while since we have had a reader of the week!

This is such a simple little chart you will be able to stitch it up in no time at all and you can use what ever colours you would prefer. I did this one on 28 count even weave and over one thread so it turned out to be a charming 2 inches square.

Home Sweet Home: The Last Minute Cross Stitch Chart

Hi folks! Got a free cross stitch chart for you today. I know I usually do the free chart on Friday. But this is my blog and I can post what I like when I like and I like to post a free chart today!

This little sampler was done for Bear's sister who had her birthday on the weekend. I had planned to give her one of my clay creatures that I make and I made her one specially but because of the damp weather it was not dry in time to fire.

I had to fall back to my other free present standby. A cross stitch. I think she liked it.

This only took three or four hours to stitch up and the colours evolved as I went along. You can change them to use your own colour scheme. It would be a great house warming or hostess gift.

Just in case you were curious, this is the creature waiting to go in the kiln. It's a wuss. There are lots of them hanging around the house so if you want one let me know and I can put it on etsy to purchase. They don't eat much but wreak havoc with the drains. All that hair you see. You can go for a short hair. Much less grooming.

This wise cracking Dorothy Parker Martini quote cross stitch sampler is the perfect gift for any classy tippler in your life. We have my Mom to thank for inspiring this chart. She likes to have a Martini and quip. I think I will stitch this one up for her to hang by the bar and remind my Dad what his most important task is.
